Vasil Valkanov is an outstanding talented singer from the youngest generation of folk singers. After a successful performance in a competition at the Bulgarian National Radio in 1990, numerous appearances followed with various musical formations, as well as a soloist of the ensemble "Gotse Delchev", Sofia. In the interpretation of his songs Vasil Valkanov insists very much on the authentic in the lyrics and music, and his velvety and warm timbre makes him a characteristic performer with his own distinct personality. His interesting and controlled voice makes him a desirable duet partner, and so far Vasil Valkanov has recorded duets with Suzana Spasovska, Zuitsa Lazova, Daniela Velichkova, Teodora, Guna Ivanova, Vidanka Georgieva, Tanya Skecheliyeva, Tsvetelina Bashkehayova, Iva Gidikova, Nelina, Maria and Magalena Filatova. At the end of 2013 Vasil Valkanov signed a contract with music company "Piner".
