The Orpheus Folk Music Orchestra from Plovdiv with artistic director Georgi Yanev was founded in 1979. Orpheus is an orchestra formed by trained musicians. Orpheus Orchestra is distinguished from all other folk music orchestras.It has its own image, its own unique style of performance, which serves as a bridge between the modern interests and tastes of the audience and the traditional Bulgarian folk music.The performance of the ensemble attracts with the combination of a number of qualities, mood, melody, improvisation and specific elements of the overall sound.
